We booked a car to take us to the airport for six o'clock so we were up nice and early. Had a nasty breakfast at Barcelona airport and then we were off to Rome. It was a speedy two hour trip. We arrived in our apartment on Via della Luce in Trastevere. This was the same one that Paul and Tina stayed in last year. Trastevere is a charming rabbit warren of a place with narrow streets and lots of cobble stones. This is a view from our lounge room window.
Comparing our apartments, we rated Barcelona as the best, then Rome and Paris last because of the low attic bedroom ceiling and the fact that it was very dark. It was also the most expensive of the apartments. But every one of them have been in the most superb location.
We went for a walk to the nearby supermarket to stock up on groceries and passed this quaint little florist with its own little water pump. And who knows who decided to create art out of this tree stump but it worked.
Dinner hit all the right buttons for me. I find it hard to resist a seafood treat.
