Pompidou Centre and more

A wonderful mural on the way to the Pompidou Centre. Our first two days in Paris were grey and drizzling but now the weather is sunny and pleasant.

We both just loved the Pompidou Centre. Our favourite so far. Such an ugly building but full of such wonderful things.

There were two main exhibitions. I have always loved Magritte and we were here for the opening of a new exhibition. We saw a Magritte exhibition in Chicago a couple of years ago but this one was better.

And then there was the Beat Generation exhibition. What a crazy bunch of dudes. But a good pairing with the whole world of surrealism. Both movements were concerned with the connection of art and thought.

Some thoughts were not as coherent as others.

Here's a lovely photo of a young Allen Ginsberg. He's the one on the right.

At the top is one of the loveliest restaurants with wonderful views of Paris. Expensive but worth it.

Below is an example of French street art.

We couldn't resist.
