Paris Metro Reunion

The second day of the Paris Metro Reunion we enjoyed a four and a half hour lunch at Alcazar where we ate fabulous food, drank fabulous wine and fabulous speeches were made by all and sundry. The ubiquitous magazine was prominently displayed.

Lots of emotion on display. Tina and Stanley remember the good old days.

Joel makes a rousin vigorous speech while Crag below talks more nostalgically.

And the next day we had an informal brunch at Joe Allen where the gang used to hang out forty years ago. Below we have Joel recounting to the present day staff how he used to be a waiter here some forty odd years ago and how he was fired for punching a customer. There is a touch of Heminway about this weekend.

Here we have Tom and Harry Stein having a laugh about the glory days.

Wider shot of the crew.

During this lunch two policemen whizzed past in the rain on rollerblades. Unfortunately I couldn't get to my camera in time. You'll just have to believe me.

Above is Wouter Apituley who came in from Amstredam where he owns a couscous restaurant. All the Paris Metro staff seemed to have been amazing self starters with great ideas and huge ambitions.

This wonderful pink drink is called a Sea Breeze. It is a delicious mixture of grapefruit and cranberry juice and vodka.
