Medical matters

Tom has had a sore ear ever since we left Australia so we went to a doctor in Petoskey. We found out that he has a middle ear infection. Off to the drugstore, as they say in America. 

Two hundred dollars for six pills and a small bottle of ear drops! How do the bulk of Americans afford health care? 

We had to wait for over an hour to have the scripts filled because it was very busy and there was a lot of confusion because they had two Tom Moores in the system. Both with the same birth date.

To console myself I wandered around the long aisles and bought useless thing like tweezers and a nail file. I did however buy some cough lollies to soothe my sore throat. As I was sucking on a lolly I read the paper wrapping and was overwhelmed by the messages that were written in tiny gnomic writing.

I felt defeated before I even finished the sweet. I didn't want to dust off and get up or inspire envy. I just wanted to soothe my sore throat.
